What it does

CG 40 27 12 25 is ISO's Exclusion – Exterior Insulation And Finish Systems (EIFS) With Exception For Drainable EIFS Not Installed Over Wood. ISO introduced it with the 12 25 multistate revision (filing GL-2024-OFR24), approved in most states with an April 1, 2027 effective date; a few states approved June 1, 2026 or other dates.

It is a narrower alternative to CG 21 86: EIFS exposures remain excluded except for drainable systems that are not installed over wood.
