What it does
CG 22 34 excludes injury or damage arising out of (1) preparing or approving maps, shop drawings, opinions, reports, surveys, field orders, change orders, drawings and specifications by any architect, engineer or surveyor on a project where the named insured serves as construction manager, or (2) inspection, supervision, quality control, architectural or engineering activities done by or for the named insured on such a project.
Who needs it
Construction management firms and contractors that offer CM or CM-at-risk services.
Key provisions and limits
- Like most ISO professional exclusions, it applies even when the claim alleges negligent supervision, hiring, employment, training or monitoring of others, if the occurrence or offense involved the excluded service.
Quoting and selling notes
- Supervisory and quality control failures are central to many jobsite injury claims; the CGL will not respond to them on CM projects. Contractors professional liability fills the gap.
