What it does
CU 34 71 is part of ISO's 2025 umbrella endorsement filing (01 26 edition). It excludes injury arising out of human trafficking as defined in the endorsement. Excess counterpart: CX 34 13.
Who needs it
Hotels, motels, truck stops, massage and entertainment businesses and other accounts the carrier views as exposed.
How it fits the umbrella
The umbrella has its own exclusions that apply whether or not the underlying policies cover the claim, and many ISO umbrella exclusion endorsements mirror a CGL or auto exclusion so that the umbrella does not drop down where the underlying is excluded. When an underlying policy carries an exclusion, check that the umbrella carries the matching CU endorsement, or explain the gap if it does not.
Quoting and selling notes
- Check whether the underlying CGL carries the matching exclusion; if the umbrella excludes what the primary covers, explain the limit gap.
- These are new filings; adoption dates vary by carrier and state.
