What it does
CU 21 17 excludes work on projects listed in the schedule that are insured by a wrap-up program, so the contractor's own umbrella does not respond for that project. Editions 09 00 and 12 19 appear in carrier filings, and ISO also files a state version for Alaska (CU 34 34).
Who needs it
Contractors enrolled in OCIPs or CCIPs.
How it fits the umbrella
The umbrella has its own exclusions that apply whether or not the underlying policies cover the claim, and many ISO umbrella exclusion endorsements mirror a CGL or auto exclusion so that the umbrella does not drop down where the underlying is excluded. When an underlying policy carries an exclusion, check that the umbrella carries the matching CU endorsement, or explain the gap if it does not.
Quoting and selling notes
- Check whether completed operations after the wrap-up ends are covered; limited versions keep some coverage.
- Get the wrap-up limits and duration from the project documents.
