What it does
CM 26 02 adds four coverage extensions to the Physicians And Surgeons Equipment Coverage Form (CM 00 26): office equipment temporarily away from the premises for up to 30 consecutive days; extra expense to keep the office running after covered loss, for the time needed to restore normal operations; personal effects of the insured, officers, partners, members, managers and employees (not theft) and personal property of others in the insured's care; and books of account, manuscripts, drawings, card index systems and other records, including the cost to reproduce them. Each extension has a $2,500 per-occurrence limit (personal effects and property of others per premises).
Who needs it
Small practices that use CM 00 26 as their only contents coverage and want modest amounts for these common gaps.
Quoting and selling notes
The limits are small. Practices with meaningful patient-record, extra-expense or business income exposures need valuable papers (CM 00 67), business income or cyber coverage with adequate limits.
