What it does

CG 40 13 excludes "bodily injury" arising out of inhalation of, contact with or exposure to vapor delivered from an "electronic smoking device", or from its components and accessories in connection with that vapor. The exclusion does not apply to bodily injury from the explosion, bursting or rupturing of a device or its components.

Who needs it

Retailers with vape product sales, where the carrier excludes long-term health claims but keeps product failure claims.

Key provisions and limits

  • Uses the same "electronic smoking device" definition as CG 40 12.
  • Applies to the CGL and Products/Completed Operations coverage parts.

Quoting and selling notes

  • Preferable to CG 40 12 for clients selling vape products; battery fires and explosions remain covered.
