What it does
CG 21 41 excludes any claim made or "suit" brought for damages by any Named Insured against another Named Insured because of "bodily injury" or "property damage" arising out of "your products" and included in the products-completed operations hazard.
Who needs it
Groups with several named insureds, such as a manufacturer and its distribution subsidiary, where the carrier will not pay intra-group product claims.
Key provisions and limits
- Applies to the CGL and Products/Completed Operations coverage parts.
Quoting and selling notes
- Discuss whether affiliated entities buy each other's products; those claims become uninsured.
- Ask how the affiliated companies are organized and whether intercompany sales are significant.
- Consider whether separate policies for affiliated companies would better protect against intercompany product claims.
