What it does
BP 04 47 makes each vendor named in the Schedule an additional insured, but only for bodily injury or property damage arising out of the named insured's products shown in the Schedule that are distributed or sold in the regular course of the vendor's business.
Key provisions (01 06 text)
The vendor is not covered for liability it assumes by contract (beyond liability it would have anyway), express warranties the named insured did not authorize, physical or chemical changes it makes to the product, and similar vendor-caused problems listed in the form.
Who needs it
Product makers and wholesalers on the BOP that sell through retailers or distributors that require vendor endorsements as a condition of carrying the product.
Quoting and selling notes
- Schedule each vendor and the products; ISO also has an automatic vendors version for contracts.
- Confirm the BOP's products-completed operations aggregate is adequate for the volume sold through the vendor.
- Kansas has state versions.
