What it does
ISO publishes three PFAS exclusions with a 05 23 edition: CG 34 95, CG 34 96 and CG 40 32, each titled "Exclusion – Perfluoroalkyl And Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)". They exclude liability arising out of PFAS, the class of synthetic chemicals used in firefighting foam, nonstick and stain-resistant coatings, food packaging and many industrial processes.
Who needs it
Any account with PFAS in its products, processes or waste streams; underwriters increasingly attach PFAS exclusions broadly.
Key provisions and limits
- The forms are not filed in every state.
Quoting and selling notes
- PFAS claims are long-tail; occurrence policies from earlier years may still respond, so preserve old policies.
