What it does

CG 22 68 makes the auto exclusion inapplicable to any "customer's auto" while on or next to premises the insured owns, rents or controls and uses for auto repair or service, car washes, gasoline stations, tire dealers or quick lubrication services. A customer's auto is one on the premises to receive the services the business normally provides, excluding autos owned by or registered to the insured.

Who needs it

Repair shops, car washes, gas stations, tire shops and quick lube operators insured on a CGL rather than a garage or auto dealer policy.

Key provisions and limits

  • Coverage is liability for operating customer autos; physical damage to the customer's car is a garagekeepers exposure.

Quoting and selling notes

  • Sell garagekeepers coverage alongside. Test drives off premises are not covered by this form.
