What it does
CG 22 92 states that, within the "products-completed operations hazard", the aircraft, auto or watercraft exclusion does not apply to any "auto" used for snow plow operations. Slip-and-fall claims after plowing is finished, which might be argued to arise from use of the plow truck, are then not barred by the auto exclusion.
Who needs it
Snow and ice removal contractors and landscapers with winter plowing.
Key provisions and limits
- Injury during the plowing itself remains an auto liability exposure.
Quoting and selling notes
- Snow removal is a high-frequency slip-and-fall class; underwriters look at contracts (per-push versus seasonal, hold harmless terms) and documentation of service times.
- Snow removal contracts that shift all slip-and-fall liability to the plow contractor are common; review hold harmless wording and AI requests (CG 20 26 or CG 20 43).
