What it does
With respect to the operations described in the schedule, CG 22 44 excludes injury or damage arising out of: the rendering of or failure to render medical, surgical, dental, X-ray or nursing services (and related food or beverages), any health or therapeutic service, and services for appearance or skin enhancement, hair removal or replacement, or personal grooming; the furnishing or dispensing of drugs or medical, dental or surgical supplies; and the handling or treatment of dead bodies, including autopsies and organ donation.
Who needs it
Clinics, medical offices, nursing homes, home health agencies, schools with nurses, and businesses with on-site medical staff.
Key provisions and limits
- Like most ISO professional exclusions, it applies even when the claim alleges negligent supervision, hiring, employment, training or monitoring of others, if the occurrence or offense involved the excluded service.
Quoting and selling notes
- Pair with medical professional liability. Check the schedule wording so the exclusion does not reach non-medical operations.
