What it does
CG 22 41 excludes bodily injury or property damage arising out of the ownership of a building that exists on the site of a proposed housing project when a housing authority acquires it, or that is to be demolished, if the injury occurs during the vacancy before demolition or during demolition.
Who needs it
Public housing authorities and redevelopment entities acquiring property for housing projects.
Quoting and selling notes
- Vacant and pre-demolition buildings need separate coverage or careful contract risk transfer to demolition contractors.
- Many public entities insure through risk pools or self-insurance; when an ISO CGL is used, review the full set of governmental endorsements together so road, police and riot exposures are placed somewhere.
