What it does
CG 22 40 adds a Coverage C exclusion: the insurer will not pay medical expenses for "bodily injury" to any child enrolled in a day care center.
Who needs it
Day care and preschool operators, where minor injuries to enrolled children are frequent.
Key provisions and limits
- Liability coverage for injuries to children (Coverage A) is not affected.
- Visitors and parents remain eligible for medical payments.
Quoting and selling notes
- Offer student or participant accident insurance to cover enrolled children's medical bills.
- Underwriters will ask about enrollment, ages served, staff ratios, licensing and transportation.
- Medical payments for children's minor injuries can also be handled through a child care accident policy.
