What it does
CA 99 55 does for the Auto Dealers Coverage Form what CA 99 48 does for the business auto and motor carrier forms. In the 10 13 edition (which converted the former garage version to the auto dealers form):
ISO's 2026 multistate forms revision (CA-2026-OFR26) introduces a 09 27 edition of this form, approved for policies effective on or after September 1, 2027 in states where it has been adopted; the prior edition remains in use until then and in states that have not adopted the revision.
- The part of the pollution exclusion dealing with pollutants transported or handled by a covered auto applies only to liability assumed under a contract or agreement.
- The Care, Custody Or Control exclusion does not apply to that restored coverage.
- "Covered pollution cost or expense" is redefined to include cleanup demands and governmental suits for pollutants in transit, excluding pollutants before loading or after final delivery unless an off-premises accident upsets or overturns the container and causes the discharge.
Who needs it
Dealers that haul used oil, waste fluids, fuel or parts-cleaning solvents, or that run service trucks carrying fuel.
Quoting notes
Ask what the dealer's vehicles carry and whether waste is hauled by the dealer or a vendor. Premises pollution (tanks, shop operations) is a separate general liability or environmental exposure not addressed by this endorsement.
