What it does
MM 20 11 is the Massachusetts mobile equipment endorsement. CAR's Rule 125 (Special or Mobile Equipment) lists equipment-type vehicles (for example, cherry pickers and similar devices used to raise or lower workers, and vehicles maintained primarily for purposes other than transporting persons or cargo) and provides that "for vehicles described ... that are not subject to a compulsory or financial responsibility law or other motor vehicle insurance law, Mobile Equipment Endorsement MM 20 11 may be used." The current edition is 07 25.
Who needs it
Contractors, utilities and municipalities in Massachusetts with equipment-carrying vehicles that need auto coverage on a scheduled basis.
Key points
- For equipment incapable of moving under its own power (class code 79390), CAR states that medical payments, uninsured motorists and underinsured motorists coverages do not apply.
