What it does
CU 21 14 changes the umbrella's liquor liability exclusion and provides that it does not apply to the premises or activities listed in the schedule, so liquor exposure can be insured at named locations or events only.
Who needs it
Accounts with alcohol at limited locations or events, such as a winery tasting room, a country club bar or an annual fundraiser.
How it fits the umbrella
The umbrella has its own exclusions that apply whether or not the underlying policies cover the claim, and many ISO umbrella exclusion endorsements mirror a CGL or auto exclusion so that the umbrella does not drop down where the underlying is excluded. When an underlying policy carries an exclusion, check that the umbrella carries the matching CU endorsement, or explain the gap if it does not.
Quoting and selling notes
- List every premises or activity where alcohol is served; others are excluded.
