What it does

CG 22 73 replaces paragraph (1)(d) of the pollution exclusion so that it excludes bodily injury or property damage from pollutants at or from any premises, site or location on which any insured or its contractors or subcontractors are performing operations, removing the exceptions that the base form otherwise contains for that paragraph.

Who needs it

Oil and gas producers, operators and contractors.

Quoting and selling notes

  • Oil and gas risks usually need separate pollution coverage (for example sudden and accidental pollution).
  • Oil and gas risks are normally written by energy specialty markets with sudden and accidental pollution coverage built in.
  • Ask about well count, production versus drilling, and pollution controls at each lease.
