What it does

With respect to stevedoring operations, CG 22 63 adds to the products-completed operations hazard definition that it does not include injury or damage arising out of occurrences not on board vessels at the site of operations after their completion or abandonment.

Who needs it

Stevedoring companies and marine cargo handlers.

Key provisions and limits

  • Applies to the CGL and Products/Completed Operations coverage parts.

Quoting and selling notes

  • Longshore workers compensation (USL&H) is a separate exposure.
  • Stevedores also need USL&H compensation, wharfinger or terminal operator liability and cargo legal liability; review how the GL fits with those marine coverages.
  • Ask which ports and vessels the stevedore works and whether cargo handling contracts shift liability to it.
