What it does

With respect to tours the named insured conducts, CG 22 28 makes paragraph c.(2) of the "coverage territory" definition not apply. That paragraph normally extends coverage worldwide for activities of a person whose home is in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada while away for a short time on the insured's business.

Who needs it

Travel agents and tour operators leading groups abroad.

Quoting and selling notes

  • Foreign tour exposures then need international liability coverage.
  • Tour operators usually need a foreign liability or travel industry program that covers injuries abroad, plus professional liability for booking errors.
  • Ask where tours go, how many travelers a year, and whether the operator uses local subcontracted vendors abroad.
