What it does
CG 20 35 adds any person or organization that grants licenses to the named insured as an additional insured when the parties agreed in writing to add it, but only for their liability as grantor of licenses.
Who needs it
Licensees of trademarks or characters (merchandise makers, event producers), concession and access licensees, and other businesses operating under license agreements.
Key provisions and limits
- Status ends when the license expires or is terminated or revoked by the licensor before expiration.
- Coverage applies only to the extent permitted by law.
- Contract-based limits: coverage is no broader than any contract requires, the most paid for the additional insured is the lesser of the contract-required amount or the policy limits, and the endorsement does not increase limits.
Quoting and selling notes
- For a single named licensor, CG 20 36 schedules it instead.
- Product licensors may also want vendor or products coverage; review the license agreement.
