What it does
CG 20 14 adds as an insured any person or organization using or legally responsible for the use of draft or saddle animals or vehicles for use with them, provided the use is by the named insured or by others with its permission.
Who needs it
Riding stables, trail ride operators, carriage and hayride operators, and farms that let customers ride or drive animals.
Key provisions and limits
- No schedule; permissive users qualify automatically.
- Coverage applies only to the extent permitted by law.
- Contract-based limits: coverage is no broader than any contract requires, the most paid for the additional insured is the lesser of the contract-required amount or the policy limits, and the endorsement does not increase limits.
Quoting and selling notes
- Underwriters will want details of riding activities, waivers, helmet rules and instructor qualifications.
- Injury to the riders themselves is a separate exposure; review any participant exclusion the carrier attaches.
